Zusammenfassung:	A control system for dark current of a vehicle controller and a method thereof are provided to prevent unnecessary discharge of a vehicle and maintain data of a microcomputer. A method of controlling dark current of a vehicle controller includes the steps of turning off a vehicle so that a start signal is not input(S302), entering a sleep mode after a certain time(S304), measuring the dark current flowing in the microcomputer(S306), comparing a reference current set in the microcomputer to diagnose whether the dark current is more than the reference current(S308), transmitting the diagnosis result to a high scanner and a vehicle diagnosis system when the dark current is larger than the reference current(S310), storing data stored in a RAM to a ROM(S312), and blocking the dark current by turning off the microcomputer.
