Zusammenfassung:A method for isolating a fraction including panaxadiol saponin of Red ginseng is provided to obtain the panaxadiol saponin fraction with excellent anti-inflammatory activity, particularly a fraction containing highly percentage of Rb1 saponin. A method for isolating a fraction including panaxadiol saponin of Red ginseng comprises the steps of: (a) adding ethanol to an ethanol or a water extract of Red ginseng to remove generated precipitated materials of non-saponin polymer materials therefrom through filtration or centrifugation; (b) removing ethanol from supernatant obtained after removing the precipitated materials to concentrate it; and (c) after adding distilled water to the concentrate, filtering it through an ultrafiltration device to obtain the fraction including panaxadiol saponin not passing through the ultrafiltration membrane, wherein the obtained fraction including panaxadiol saponin is soluble in water, sparingly soluble in ethanol and methanol, and insoluble in ether and chloroform, has a pH of 4.3-4.8(in 0.1% aqueous solution) and the UV absorption of lambdamax=270-280 nanometers.
