CHANNEL SEARCHING CANCEL METHOD OF DIGITAL MULTIMEDIA BROADCASTING RECEIVER

A channel search cancellation method in a DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) receiving apparatus is provided to cancel channel search while searching a channel and inform a user that the channel search is cancelled to reduce the power consumption of the DMB receiving apparatus and improve usability. A DMB receiving unit(110) searches the first channel including a DMB signal corresponding to a certain broadcasting program, and receives the DMB signal. A key input unit(160) receives a channel search cancellation command for canceling search for the first channel. If the channel search cancellation command is received, a UI(User Interface) generating unit(150) generates a message for informing that the channel search is being cancelled. An AV processing unit(130) processes the message outputted from the UI generating unit(150) to be displayed on a screen. A control unit(180) controls the DMB receiving unit(110) to cancel the search for the first channel according to the channel search cancellation command, and controls the UI generating unit(150) and the AV processing unit(130) to generate the message and display the generated message on the screen.
