Zusammenfassung:A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided to reduce the length of one subfield and to prevent dynamic false contour by applying a selective erase address method in an address period of each subfield. A driving method of a plasma display device includes the steps of: dividing plural row electrodes into first and second row groups(G1,G2) and dividing the row electrodes of the first row group into plural sub groups(G11,G12) and the row electrodes of the second row group into plural sub groups(G27,G28); selecting a non-emission cell from emission cells of each sub group of the first row group during a first address period(EA11~EA15) for each sub group of the first row group and sustain-discharging the emission cell of at least one of the sub groups during a first sustain period for each sub group of the second row group, in a prior first subfield; selecting the non-emission cell from the emission cells of each sub group of the second row group during a second address period(EA25~EA28) for each sub group of the second row group and sustain-discharging the emission cell of at least one sub group during a second sustain period for each sub group of the first row group, in the first subfield; and setting a discharge cell of the corresponding sub group as the emission cell during the respective first periods right before the first and second address periods.
