Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: Provided are a polyethoxylated vitamin C derivative and a method for manufacturing the same. The novel ascorbic acid derivative has excellent antioxidation effect and skin whitening effect. CONSTITUTION: A novel polyethoxylated ascorbic acid derivative is represented by the formula(1) or (2), wherein PEG is (CH2CH2O)nOR1, n is 2-200 and R1 is C1-C6 lower alkyl group. The compound of the formula(2) is manufactured by reacting a compound of the formula(4) with a compound of the formula(3) in a solvent.
