Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method of inspecting a funnel assembly for a cathode ray tube are provided to perform the inspection regardless of a size of the funnel assembly by contacting probes with an outer wall of a neck. CONSTITUTION: A frame(20) has a support platform(21) for supporting a funnel assembly(10) to arrange a neck(12) to an upper direction. A position setup portion locates the funnel on a reference position of the support platform(20). A detection portion(30) is installed at the frame(20). The detection portion(30) is moved to a radius direction of a shaft line of the neck(12). The detection portion(30) has plural probes(64-66) which are contacted with an outer surface of the neck(12) in order to generate signals. A control portion controls the movement of the probes(64-66), compares signals of the probes(64-66) with a reference value, and evaluate a geometric state of the neck to the funnel.
