| Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE: A motion estimation method of a block unit in image compression is provided to increase the precision of motion compensation estimation by simply detecting rotation and zooming components in a video compression encoder which estimates the motion per block unit. CONSTITUTION: A motion estimation method of a block unit in image compression includes the steps of setting templates employing a range of ±1 in NxN pixels, and estimating and compensating rotation of original pixels by matching the set template with original NxN pixels, wherein the templates are respectively set for clock-wise rotation and counter clock-wise rotation for estimating the rotation of the original pixels.
