PURPOSE: A document reading device of a facsimile synchronous signal detecting circuit and a method are provided to be capable of minimizing the pressure difference for tightly closing a document against a CIS(Contact Image Scanner) reading part, and of easily correcting the pressure if the pressure isn't constant. CONSTITUTION: In a feeding roller(10), the length of a portion tightly closed to a reading part(31) of a CIS(30) is reduced to a predetermined length range. One leading end of at least one pushing member(40) is coupled to a feeding path panel(50) opposing the CIS reading part(31), and the other leading end of the pushing member(40) is tightly closed to the CIS reading part(31) which isn't tightly closed to the feeding roller(10), thereby pressing the document.
