Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE: A process for treating chrome containing waste water by using a strain of Inonotus cuticularis is provided to reduce noxious hexavalent chrome to innoxious trivalent chrome. CONSTITUTION: Waste water containing harmful hexavalent chrome is contacted with a culture solution of a strain(FRI 20521) of Inonotus cuticularis cultured in a culture medium of saw dust of Mongolian oak tree for 90 days to reduce hexavalent chrome to trivalent chrome. For an example, 10g saw dust of Mongolian oak tree and 100 ml of culture medium constituted 25g glucose, 10g peptone, 5g malt extract, 2g magnesium sulfate, 3g potassium monophosphate, and 20g agar per 1,000 ml distilled water are sterilized in an autoclave, held at room temperature for 24 hr, cultured with the strain(FRI 20521) for 5 days, and shake-cultured with 5%(w/v) of 2 ml chrome solution for 72 hr. The chrome content of saw dust and filtrate is measured by using an atomic absorption spectrometer(Shimazu AA-66001) and the reduction rate of hexavalent chrome to trivalent chrome is 90%. |
