Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE: A position and posture determination method of an assembly member in a shipbuilding yard using a two-stage image processing is provided to improve productivity and reduce facility cost by automatically measuring exact position and posture of the assembly member. CONSTITUTION: A pair of cameras mounted on the ceiling obtain video images. An image corresponding to an approximate position and posture of the assembly members is synthesized. A gantry is moved to the determined position to obtain an exact position and posture of the assembly members near the assembly members by obtaining a video image with a camera fixed to the bottom of the gantry rotation axis.
