KICK-DOWN CONTROL METHOD FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

PURPOSE: A control method for a shifting from a kick-down fourth shift to the second shift in an automatic transmission is provided to enhance reliability and stability and to prevent an accident by preventing the neutral feel of a gearshift lever caused by a kick-down shift from fourth shift to shift speed during a traveling. CONSTITUTION: In case that a driver steps on an accelerator pedal to increase velocity during a fourth shift traveling, a control system outputs a signal for a shift change from kick-down fourth shift to third shift. After completing the shift change from kick-down fourth shift to third shift, a gearshift lever is kept in third shift for a set time and a kick down switch is turned on to check if air is accumulated in a kick-down servo release portion. When the kick-down switch is turned on longer than a set time, the control system outputs a signal for a speed change from kick-down fourth speed to second speed.
