METHOD OF TRANSMITTING DATA BETWEEN CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT AND PERIPHERAL DEVICE AND APPARATUS THEREOF

PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for transmitting data between a CPU and a peripheral unit are provided to prevent the CPU from processing an unnecessary interrupt, by selectively storing only valid data through the operations for setting a mode and filtering the transmitted data during data communication therebetween. CONSTITUTION: A data buffer(26) in an SPI(Serial Peripheral Interface)(40) includes transmission and reception buffers(28,30) which temporarily store the data that will be exchanged between a CPU and an APB(Advanced Peripheral Bus). Transmission and reception shift registers(36,38) are connected to an MOSI(Master Out Slave In) pin and a MISO(Master In Slave Out) pin, respectively. A timing control part(20) controls the timing of a clock(SPICLK), the data bus(26) and the shift registers(36,38). A mode setting part(32) is connected to the buffer(28) and the shift registers(36,38). A filtering part(34) is connected to the mode setting part(32) and the buffer(30) in common.
