Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To enhance the reliability of a detector and to increase the mechanical stability of diaphragms, by providing a plurality of the diaphragms as the entire detector, and elongating a time during which the specified concentration of metallic ions, where a gas electrode becomes inactive, is reached. CONSTITUTION:Electrolyte chambers 33A and 33B for gas electrodes contain electrolyte, which reacts with a gas electrode 13. An electrolyte chamber 31 for a reference- electrode contains electrolyte which reacts with a reference electrode 13 and is saturated with hand-to-dissolve salt 20. The electrolyte chambers 33A and 33B for the gas electrodes and the electrolyte chamber 31 for the reference electrode are isolated with partitioning walls 32A and 32B. Diaphragms 15A, 15B and 15C, which are provided at parts within the partitioning walls 32A and 32B, form liquid communicating parts 35A and 35B, which electrically conduct the electrolyte in the electrolyte chambers based on the transmitting property of hydrogen ions. Since a plurality of the diaphragms 15A, 15B and 15C are provided in this way, the increase in metallic ion concentration in the gas electrode part becomes very small owing to both reasons of the small diffusing areas of the liquid communicating parts 35A and 35B and the stepwise change in concentrations at the chambers partitioned by a plurality of the diaphragms 15A, 15B and 15C.
