EDITING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To execute good edit operation by operating the edit based on a count value or a time code signal when the discontinuous point of the time code signal exists between the edit starting point and the cue-up point of a tape. CONSTITUTION:The time code signal of the tape 12, a reader 7R and a control signal corresponding to the video track of the tape are counted 5R. The discontinuous point 12n of the time code signal is detected 8 and the time code signal of the edit starting point 12in of the tape is stored 10R. Besides, when the point 12n exists between the point 12in and the cue-up point 12c, the count value of the point 12n is stored 9. Then, at the time of cue-up, the time code signal at the point 12in is stored and the count value at that time is reset or the time code signal of the point 12in is preset. When the point 12n exists between the point 12in and the point 12c, the edit is operated based on the count value from the point 12n to the point 12c and from the point 12c to the point 12n and operated based on the time code signal after that.
