VIBRATION DAMPING METHOD AND DEVICE

PURPOSE:To actively damp the vibration of a vibrated body occurring along with drive for readily realizing precise positioning and high speed operation by emitting sound waves for damping vibration toward a vibrated section. CONSTITUTION:Vibration damping sound waves are emitted toward a vibrated section so that the sound pressure may restrain the vibration of a vibrated body. Actual positioning devices or high speed operation devices may have a plurality of characteristic value resonance in their transfer characteristics, i.e., free vibration is generated at these characteristic values due to step feed movements, for example. When the vibration damping sound waves to which generated free vibration constituents are synthesized beforehand are emitted from a sound loud speaker to the vibrated section, a vibration damping effect is achieved.
