Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To make an excellent individual of watermelon seedling into a cultivar for practical use, by sterilely cultivating a shoot apex part of watermelon to give a vegetative part, multiplying the vegetative part by subculture and grafting the prepared vegetative part as a scion to a stock. CONSTITUTION:The tip part of collected axillary bud is cut out and sterilized. Then the tip part is washed, the washed shoot apex part is cut out and subjected to subculture. The multiplied vegetative part with about 3cm length is cut out and grafted onto a stock of a bottle gourd by root pruning grafting.
