MANUFACTURE OF HALOGENOISATIC ACID ANHYDRIDE

Haloisatoic anhydrides are prepared by halogenating appropriately unsubstituted isatoic anhydrides with elemental chlorine or bromine in the presence of chlorosulfonic acid at from -10 DEG C. to +100 DEG C. using not less than 0.5 mole of halogen per mole of isatoic anhydride.
