COSMETIC

PURPOSE:To obtain a cosmetic, containing monoene-perhydroretinol as an active ingredient and capable of imparting moistness to the skin, improving the physiological function thereof and remarkably improving surface conditions of the skin. CONSTITUTION:A cosmetic containing a monoene-perhydroretinol, expressed by formula I and holding physiological activity comparable to that of vitamin A without containing unsaturated bonds in side chains and, an necessary, a diene-perhydroretinol expressed by formula II (double bond in the side chains is any one of parts indicated by the dotted lines) and perhydroretinol expressed by formula III so as to provide >=60wt.% monoene-perhydroretinol based on the total amount of the three ingredients. The amount of the active ingredient mixture blended is 0.0001-0.05wt.%, preferably 0.001-0.01wt.% based on the cosmetic. The above-mentioned cosmetic is stabler than a conventional cosmetic containing vitamin As blended therein is long-period preservation of the product and capable of sufficiently holding physiological activity of the vitamin As.
