TOOL MOUNTING/DISMOUNTING DEVICE FOR UNIVERSAL ATTACHMENT

PURPOSE:To mount/dismount a tool automatically by inserting an intermediate push rod advancably/retractably in axial direction such that a swivel head provided with a tool spindle holding the tool through a pull rod can collide against an attachment body fixed indexably around an axis perpendicular with the axis of the tool spindle and the rear end of the pull rod. CONSTITUTION:When a tool is replaced, rotation of a tool spindle 6 is stopped and a spindle head 1 mounted with an attachment 2 slides in the direction of a hydraulic cylinder 30 for mounting/dismounting the tool, to engage the cylinder 30 with an engaging member at the rear end of an attachment body 5. Then the cylinder 30 is operated to project a piston rod 33 so as to press an intermediate push rod 24 thus pressing the pull rod 10 of the tool spindle 6. Consequently, the pull rod 10 is pushed out to push out the shank of a cutting tool from the tool spindle 6 so as to remove the cutting tool. Then the shank of a new cutting tool is inserted to switch the oil path for the cylinder 30 thus removing pressing force against the pull rod 10. In such a manner, the cutting tool is mounted on the tool spindle 6.
