Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To prepare a release agent which exhibits excellent releasability, fabricability, finishing, and release treatment, and which comprises a particular diester of a fluoro carboxylic acid. CONSTITUTION:A release agent comprises a diester of a fluoro carboxylic acid of formula I. In the formula, R1 is a group of formula II wherein Rf if a perfluoroalkenyl group C6F11 or C6F17, or formula III (wherein l is 4-10); and R2 is a group of formula IV (wherein m is 4-18) which may have a branched chain. The release agent may further comprise a fluoro phosphate of formula V and/or a homooligomer of a fluoro acrylate of formula VI or a cooligomer of the fluoro acrylate with an ethylenic unsatd. monomer. In the formula V, n is 1 or 2 and M is a divalent metal (n=2) or an alkanolamine (n=1). In the formula VI, R' is a perfluoroalkenyl group OC6F11 or OC6H17, or a 3-12C perfluoroalkyl group which may have a branched chain.
