APPARATUS FOR CHARGING HEAT HOLDING MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To uniformly supply heat holding agent on molten metal and to uniformize temp. of the molten metal by uniformly stirring the heat holding agent in a case by a rake and opening louvers all at once to supply the heat holding agent in a molten metal ladle. CONSTITUTION:When the molten iron ladle 2 is carried from a blast furnace, a valve 6 of a hopper 5 is opened under closing condition of the louver 8, to discharge coke and the prescribed quantity of lump coke is charged into the case 4 by electromagnetic feeder 7. Next, brade 10 for brake 9 is driven to rotate by a driving device 12 and the coke in the case 6 is stirred by the brade 10 to make uniform thickness. Successively, at the time of advancing a piston 14 of a cylinder 15, all rollers 13 are rotated to counter clockwise and the louvers 8 are opened at the same time. The coke staying at uniform thickness in the core 4 is dropped into the molten iron ladle 2 at all once to uniformly spread the coke. By this method, the uniform coke layer is floated on the molten iron 1 and the uniform heat holding effect can be obtd.
