FLAG CONNECTOR FOR FLAT CABLE

PURPOSE: To ensure easy insertion of a flat cable and sufficient transfer of current by arranging excised contact pieces distributed in two lines for connection contact pieces which are arranged in three lines. CONSTITUTION: Excised contact pieces 3 are distributed in parallel in two lines which are provided on a plane among three planes to nearly determine the position of the three lines (A, B, C) of connection contact pieces 1. An insulation block 6 is provided thereon, which has two-line holes 7 for the contact pieces 3, and inserted in a cutout 5, formed on the upper side of an insulator 4. In this way, the contact pieces 3 are positioned to closely neighbor one another, so that the contact pieces 3 mutually cross the insulating layer of a flat cable 9, when connected, at the same time and uniformly. Such guide is performed during pushing of the cable therein, to prevent overload on and the bending of the individual contact pieces 3.
