CONSTITUTION:A novel bacterium strain Staphylococcus aureus Cowan KS-1030 (FERM P-9517) obtained by subjecting Staphylococcus aureus Cowan I to variation treatment is cultivated in a proper culture medium at near 37 deg.C for 6-96hr and the resultant free protein A is collected from culture filtrate.
