Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To reduce the size and weight and to increase torque and to improve workability of the titled welding torch by incorporating a linear ultrasonic motor to come into contact with a welding wire and feed the welding wire by a progressive wave tacking place on an ultrasonic oscillator in the inside of the welding torch. CONSTITUTION:The linear ultrasonic motor part 7 is incorporated in the welding torch 6 and the ultrasonic vibrator constituted by combining plural electrostrictive elements or magnetostrictive elements and incorporating these in an elastic body is arranged so that its one end face presses the side of the welding wire 2 and comes into contact therewith. The progressive wave composed of a transversal wave and a longitudinal wave excited on the surface of the ultrasonic oscillator is converted into the feed motion of the welding wire 2. By this method, the workability and a welded result can be improved by effects of the reduced size and weight and the increased torque of the titled welding torch.
