Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To impart sufficient lubricity to the iron or its alloy to be cold-worked by treating the iron with a processing soln. wherein the concns. of the ions of iron, calcium, zinc, phosphate, and nitrate and the weight ratio are specified at a specified temp., and then treating the iron with a lubricant. CONSTITUTION:Iron or its alloy is previously treated with a phosphating soln., then treated with a lubricant, and then cold-worked. The phosphating soln. contains 0.01-2.0% iron ion, 0.5-3.5% calcium ion, 0.3-2.5% zinc ion, 0.5-5.0% phosphate ion, and 0.7-12.0% nitrate ion, the weight ratio of the iron ion to the zinc ion is controlled to 0.005-3.0, and the weight ratio of the calcium ion to the zinc ion is controlled to 0.5-4.0. The treatment is carried out at a relatively low temp. of 35-65 deg.C. By this method, the iron or its alloy can be energy-savingly cold-worked and lubricated, and the lubricity capable of sufficiently withstanding the cold working under severe conditions can be imparted.
