ROOF FRAME OF FOLDING TYPE ROOF FOR AUTOMOBILE

PURPOSE: To fold a top in a compact size by extending a strut part of a main bow member where a folding top is stretched with sharp inclination inside the side wall of a car body, and disposing a top material holding rail on the outside of the strut part in such a manner as to move between the strut part and the side wall of the car body. CONSTITUTION: A cabriolet 1 has an open type upper car body structure 2, and the structure includes a folding top which can be completely stored in a partition chamber 3. The folding type top is held by a roof cap 5, a roof frame 7, a holding rail 8 and a holding link 9. The folding top is stretched by plural bow members 10-12. Further, a strut 16 of the main bow member 11 is formed by a bearing part 16a extended upward from the main bearing 15, and a strut part 16b. In this case, the strut part 16b is extended with sharp inclination inside the side wall 13 of the car body, and the holding rail 8 is disposed outside the strut part 16b. The holding rail 8 can be moved between the side wall 13 of the car body and the strut part 16b.
