ROLL TYPE SHEET SPREADER

PURPOSE:To prevent breakdown of facility and to detect occurrence of abnormality by bending an upper supporting member and an upper roll in running direction of sheet at a bent portion of a supporting member upon collision of a sheet material against the supporting member of the upper roll. CONSTITUTION:Upon collision of a sheet material 30 against an upper roll 12 arranged at a side end portion of the sheet material 30, the supporting member 22 of the upper roll 12 bends at a bent portion 26 in order to relieve impact. Consequently, the upper roll 12 tilts to protect a sheet spreader itself and the driving system for the sheet material 30 from damage. Upon falling or damage of a slit cutter in a slit device for slitting the sheet material 30 in running direction, the sheet material 30 collides against the supporting member 22 for the nip rolls 12, 13 and the upper roll 12 tilts at the bent portion 26 of the supporting member 22. Loss and abnormal breaking of the sheet material 30 product can be detected quickly by indicating occurrence of abnormality.
