Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To obtain a lens having superior surface precision by reducing the thickness of a central part of a cavity face by providing a stop hole to a back surface of a cavity die, etc., thus permitting uniform heating of the cavity part independently on the diameter of a lens even if it is increased. CONSTITUTION:The press forming device of a glass lens of this invention comprises cavity dies 16, 17, female dies 14, 15 for holding the female dies by fitting the external periphery of the female dies, and die plates 12, 13 for supporting the back surface of said cavity dies 16, 17, wherein stop holes 16a, 17a are formed on the back surface side of said dies 16, 17. A material which is heated easily by induction heating and fitted to said stop holes 16a, 17a, is heated by a induction heating means 5 to heat a raw material glass W and formed. To said dies 16, 17, a cavity face corresponding to the lens face and sintered and formed by the use of a ceramic material, is provided.
