FACSIMILE EQUIPMENT

PURPOSE:To return quickly an acknowledge signal independently of the picture reproduction of received picture information by decoding received picture information in parallel with the storage of received picture information into a memory so as to check the received picture information. CONSTITUTION:When the input of a facsimile picture signal from the line 14 is informed to a control section 16, the control section 16 outputs an address and a write signal of a memory 11 to the control line 18 and the picture information (coded code) from the line control section 10 is written in the memory 11. A decoding section 15 checks the coded code from the line control section 10 and the section 10 sends an answer signal to the transmission side corresponding to an error signal 17 from the decoding section 15. Thus, the acknowledge signal is sent quickly, then the communication efficiency is improved.
