REAGENT FOR DETERMINATION OF APOLIPOPROTEIN B

PURPOSE:To make easy, rapid and accurate detection by sensitizing an anti- apolipoprotein B antibody to an immunologically inert high-polymer latex. CONSTITUTION:This reagent is produced by sensitizing the anti-apolipoprotein B antibody by a physical adsorption method, covalent bonding method, etc., to the immunologically inert high-polymer latex. Polystyrene, carboxylated polystyrene, polyvinyl toluene, acrylate polymer, etc., are exemplified as the high-polymer latex. The sensitization is executed in the range of anti- apolipoprotein B antibody/high-polymer latex = 0.01-0.2 by weight. A specimen is added to this reagent and the change in turbidity generated by an antigen- antibody reaction is measured by an integrating sphere turbidity, by which the quantity of the apolipoprotein B in the specimen is measured. The rapid and accurate determination is thus effected without being affected by interfering materials.
