OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM

PURPOSE:To obtain an optical recording medium having a good sensitivity with good production efficiency by providing a polymer layer which is transparent to semiconductor laser light between a recording layer and reflecting layer. CONSTITUTION:The polymer layer is formed by dissolving a polymer in such a solvent which does not dissolve the recording layer and using a coating method such as dipping or spin coating and in succession, the reflecting layer is formed on the polymer layer. Any materials which are transparent to the semiconductor laser light are usable for the component of the polymer layer and polymethyl methacrylate and polycarbonate are more preferable in terms of versatility and stability. The optical recording medium having the high sensitivity is obtd. by providing the polymer layer between the recording layer and the reflecting layer in such a manner. Since the polymer layer can be formed by coating more easily than by the conventional vacuum deposition method, the production efficiency is enhanced.
