MAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To prevent level fluctuation for the frequency component of an FM sound signal and to reproduce the sound signal of a satisfactory S/N by compensating the level lowering of the frequency components of the FM sound signal at the time of recording. CONSTITUTION:A recording current, whose amplitude is equalized corresponding to the frequency of the recording current by a recording signal equalizing part 15, is recorded and reproduced by rotary heads 8 and 9, and for the FM sound signal obtained from a BPF 11, the level goes to be higher as the frequency components goes to be higher. On the other hand, the frequency band of the FM sound signal is set in the upper limit vicinity of the recordable band of ahead tape system, and by the characteristics of the upper limit vicinity, for the reproduced FM sound signal, the level goes to be lowered as the frequency component goes to be higher. Consequently, by properly setting the equalizing characteristics of the equalizing part 15, the level lowering for the frequency component of a reproducing FM sound signal can be compensated.
