PHOTOGRAPHIC SILVER HALIDE EMULSION AND MULTILAYERED PHOTOGRAPHIC SENSITIVE MATERIAL USING SAME

PURPOSE:To obtain an emulsion having high sensitivity, improved shelf stability and production stability by specifying particles in an emulsion contg. flat platy silver bromide-based particles having >=2 average aspect ratio. CONSTITUTION:This silver halide emulsion contains flat platy silver bromide- based particles having >=2 average aspect ratio. The surfaces of the particles have no projection and the silver chloride content of the surfaces is higher than that of the inner parts. The pref. average aspect ratio of flat platy particles as a matrix and that of the flat platy particles having silver chloride on the surfaces at a higher concn. are >=3, especially >=4. When the silver halide emulsion is used, a thermodynamically stable sensitive material having superior production stability is obtd. The emulsion has very high shelf stability even in a multilayered sensitive material.
