SEALING METHOD FOR SEALING PLATE OF EL PANEL

PURPOSE:To prevent damage of an electrode lead part because of a sealing plate by sealing the plate on a protection film of a base board in the region at least for fixing of the sealing plate. CONSTITUTION:A sealing plate 44 is fixed onto a protection film 52 furnished at least in the region of a base board 32 for fixing of the sealing plate. At the time of location alignment for fixing, the sealing plate 44 is moved for location alignment on the protection film 52, so that an electrode lead part 50 does not touch the sealing plate 44. In case the electrode lead part 50 of a back electrode 36 is formed from a soft electrode material such as aluminum, a back electrode 26 is prevented from damage by the sealing plate 44. The protection film 52 shall preferably be formed from an insulating material. Even though a lower electrode 34 and the back electrode 36 contact the sealing plate 44, these electrodes remain free from shortcircuiting because of provision of protection film 52 consisting of insulating material as described above, which gives a wider range of selection for the sealing plate 44 forming material.
