Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To enable to mark at a narrow place with heat resistance and clear legibility by spraying hot steel materials with a powdery marking agent mainly consisting of ferric oxide and having a given pH and a given grain size by compressed air. CONSTITUTION:Hot steel materials are sprayed with a powdery marking agent mainly consisting of ferric oxide and having a pH of 5-8 and a grain size of 0.5-10mu by compressed air. By this method, a mark can be placed at a narrow desired location. Also, this marking agent offers heat resistance and clear legibility. Moreover, it can be completely removed from the surface of steel materials after gradual cooling with the surface quality remaining intact and without exerting a bad influence on the peripheral equipment.
