Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To produce an alcohol in high efficiency, without using steaming and boiling process, by treating a starchy raw material with a specific microbial strain. CONSTITUTION:A novel microbial strain, Aspergillus K27 AC-1 (FERM-P No. 7158) or a starch decomposition enzyme produced by the strain, and a microbial strain having alcoholic fermentation capability are inoculated in a starchy raw material (e.g. corn starch), and the material is fermented at 4.6-6.0pH. The novel microbial strain belongs to Aspergillus genus, and has microbiological characteristics different from those of Aspergillus fumigatus in the points that the conidiophore is colorless and the growth temperature range is 10-55 deg.C.
