METHOD FOR PLATING FOAMED BODY

PURPOSE:To electrodeposit a metal on both sides of a tape-shaped foamed body by equal amounts and to prevent cracking and cambering due to the difference in strength between both sides by placing plural cathode electrifying rolls and bringing one side of the foamed body into contact with one of the rolls and the other side into contact with the other. CONSTITUTION:A preliminary plating cell, a first plating cell 1 and a second plating cell 2 are installed. In the first cell 1, the side B of a tape-shaped foamed body 3 is faced inward and brought into contact with a cathode electrifying roll 4 to plate the side A faced outward with a metal by about half of a prescribed amount (weight). In the second cell 2, the side A of the formed body 3 is faced inward and brought into contact with a cathode electrifying roll 5 to plate the side B faced outward by the remaining half. By this method, the sides A, B have the same strength and the cambering and cracking of the plated foamed body by internal stress produced during heating and cooling are prevented.
