DYE SUPPLY DEVICE IN DIRECT THERMAL RECORDER

PURPOSE:To enable the smooth supply of dye, by a method wherein a movable- plate member, which passes the open surfaces of dye supply ports opposed thereto while holding dye, is disposed within a dye containing portion of a dye container. CONSTITUTION:On the upper side of a containing portion 3 of a dye container 1, a plurality of dye supply ports 5 are provided. A rotating shaft 15 is disposed downwards of the dye supply ports 5, and a squeegee 4 which has a sharp tip end and serves as a planar member is installed to the rotating shaft 15. Dye 20 inputted from an input port 2 into the containing portion 3 moves towards the squeegee 4 according to the head. The rotation of the squeegee 4 in the direction of arrow moves the dye 20 existing in front of the squeegee 4 towards the supply ports 5, thus a dye holding portion 16 is filled with the dye passing through the supply ports 5. When the dye holding portion 16 and the supply ports 5 are both filled with the dye, the squeegee 4 travels without supplying the dye.
