PREPARATION OF POLYURETHANE FOAM MOLDING

PURPOSE:To make it possible to prepare well even a molding of a complicated shape and to offer a light wt. polyurethane foam molding having high rigidity and strength, by piling up a first foam impregnated with a moisture-curable liquid and a second foam through a reinforcing material and, pressing under heat the laminate or a laminate on the surface of which a hot melt film is placed. CONSTITUTION:A first foam 10 constited of a soft polyurethane foam impregnated with a moisture-curable liquid having terminal NCO-groups and a second foam 12 consisted of a soft polyurethane foam are laminated through a reinforcing material 14, and the laminate or a laminate wherein on at least one of the upper or lower face thereof a hot melt film 16 is placed is pressed under heat into a specified shape to carry out the shape setting of the laminate the adhere them into a body. The molding thus obtained becomes a plate having a high rigidity because the entire first foam 10 is hardened by curing of the moisture-curable liquid. On the other hand, voids in the second foam 12 are kept as they are. Moreover, rigidity of the molding is further improved by the reinforcing material 14. If surface protection and moisture resistance are required, these effects can be given by the hot melt film 16 of the upper and lower surface.
