TRAVELING STATE DETECTING DEVICE FOR AUTOMOBILE

PURPOSE:To cut the production cost and reduce the occupation time for an electronic controller by providing a steering angle sensor which stepwise generates the signals at two kinds of levels, having a prescribed steering angle as boundary, memory means having each 1-bit capacity, renewal means for memory value, and a calculating means for the traveling state index. CONSTITUTION:A renewal means 2 successively memorizes the signals supplied from a steering angle sensor 1 which stepwise generates the signals at two kinds of levels, having a prescribed steering angle as boundary, in the form of 0 or 1 according to the level in a prescribed interval into a number of 1-bit memory regions in a memory means 3. After the memorization into all the regions is completed, the contents are renewed in succession from the first region. A calculating means 4 successively reads the memory value in a number of memory regions and calculates the total sum, and said value is divided by the whole number in the memory region, and the traveling state index is calculated. Therefore, if the boundary of the steering angle at which the steering angle signal level is varied is set properly, the change of the traveling state due to the difference of road can be detected, and since the structure of the device is simple and capacity is represented by 1-bit, production cost can be cut, and the occupation time for the electronic controller can be reduced.
