PURPOSE:To provide a space heater which is safe and easy to operate, and has a low running cost, by constituting the device such that the heat of absorption, produced in case a coolant steam being of a type of a concentration difference energy is absorbed, is utilized. CONSTITUTION:A solution 23 of absorption heating salts is housed in a solution tank 20, and a solvent 44 such as water is housed in a solvent tank 40 located in the solution 23 to heat a heater 50 including an electric heater 53. In this case, when the temperature of the solution 23 attains the boiling point of the solvent 44, only the solvent 44 is boiled to generate steam. Then, steam in the tank 40 is jetted into the solution 23 from a blow-off pipe 72 through a pipe 70 passing through a heat exchanging chamber 60 to generate the heat of absorption. The steam in the tank 40 flows in a pipe 80 provided at the middle part thereof with an injector 81, and makes contact with the solution 23, absorbed through a pipe 82, at the injector 81 to produce the heat of absorption. The heat produced by said absorping reaction is dissipated into the air through the heat exchanging chamber 60 to perform a heating.
