STORAGE SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To quickly access stored contents by storing contents, whose frequency in access is relatively high, out of contents to be stored in a first memory means and storing the other contents in a second memory means. CONSTITUTION:An electronic cash register (ECR) 11 is provided with a processor (CPU) consisting of a large scale integrated circuit (LSI) or the like, and a key input means 12 and a first and second display parts 19 and 21 are connected to this processor. Further, a read-only memory (ROM) 35 where programs, which execute respective operating states when the operation state of the ECR 11 is switched by the operation of a mode changeover switch 18, or the like are stored and a random access memory (RAM) 36 where goods names inputted in the program operating state or the like are stored are connected to the processor. An external storage device 37 is connected to the CPU also. In this case, contents other than contents whose frequency in access is relatively high out of contents to be stored are stored in the second memory means which data is written in and read from at a speed lower than that of the first memory means RAM 36.
