DUST-FREE FEED ADDITIVE COMPOSITION CONTAINING QUINOXALINE-1,4-DIOXIDE

PURPOSE:To obtain an additive composition for animal feed, producible at a relatively low cost from an easily available inexpensive excipient and generating extremely little dust, by compounding olaquindox, cake of rice bran oil and liquid paraffin. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition contains (A) 5-80wt% olaquindox [2-(N-2'-hydroxyethyl-carbamoyl)-3-methyl-quinoxaline-1,4-dioxide], (B) 12-94.5wt% rice bran oil cake and (C) 0.5-8wt% liquid paraffin. The olaquindox used in the above composition is a compound expressed by the formula, having excellent antibacterial property and effective in promoting the growth of animals and/or improving the feed efficiency. The dusting of the composition can be remarkably decreased by using rice bran oil cake as an excipient compared with other excipients. Liquid paraffin exhibits by far excellent dust-suppressing effect compared with soybean oil, etc., even at a relatively low rate of applica tion and has excellent stability.
