SOLID-STATE IMAGE PICKUP DEVICE

PURPOSE:To suppress the occurrence of moire by repeating color filter arrange ment in a vertical direction an inverting the arrangement of 1st and 2nd color filters at every odd number of rows or inverting the arrangement of 3rd and 4th color filters at every number of rows. CONSTITUTION:Magenta (Mg) and yellow (Ye) filters are arranged alternately on 1st and 3rd rows in the arrangement of photodetectors 3 and cyan (Cy) Ye filters are arranged on 2nd and 4th rows to repeat the arrangement in the vertical direction. Further, the horizontal position of the Mg, Ye filters on the odd number of rows is replaced at every row or the horizontal position of the Ce, Ye filters on even number of rows is replaced at each row, or the horizontal position of the Cy, Ye filters on an even number row is replaced at every row. In the filter arrangement above, color filters having similar spec tral characteristics are used for the Mg, Ye and Cy filters. The sensitivity of each filter is nearly equal in the standard white color system. Thus, the moire caused due to the difference of sensitivity of different color filters is hardly caused.
