TRANSMITTING DEVICE FOR VARIABLE DENSITY PICTURE

PURPOSE:To transmit a variable density picture at high speed by converting the variable density picture into a picture signal consisting of a binary number and transmitting it to a receiving side after a compression encoding of a binary picture. CONSTITUTION:At a transmitting side, the variable density picture, which is taken in from a picture input part 101, is converted into the picture signal of the binary number by a converting part 102, and each digit of the picture signal is encoded respectively into the compression code of the binary picture by a picture processing part 103, and the encoded information of each digit is transmitted to a receiving side by a transmitting part 104. At the receiving side, an incoming signal is received by a receiving part 201, and is decoded by a picture decoding part 202, and the information of each digit is taken out, and an original picture signal is restored from them by a picture signal restoring part 203, then, the variable density picture is reproduced and displayed based on the above by a displaying part 204. Thus, the compression coding with a high compression rate and with a high processing speed can be executed for the variable density picture too.
