Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of an uneven coating in the form of a vertical beltlike shape on the surface of a prepreg by rotating a squeeze roll in the direction opposite to the travelling direction of a base material and stripping off the resin carried away with the base material. CONSTITUTION:A sheet base material 1 is caused to pass through an impregnation tank 2 containing liquid thermosetting resin 3 and the amount of the resin attached to the base material is adjusted by subsequently passing the base material impregnated with the liquid thermosetting resin through the gap between squeeze rolls 4 with at least one of the pairs of stripping members arranged opposite to each other with a certain space apart. Then the sheet base material 1 is dried by a dryer 6. Since the base material may be broken if a foreign substance such as resin and thread refuses are allowd to slip inbetween the squeeze rolls rotating in the directions opposite to each other, it is so arranged that, if an overload exceeding a predetermined level is applied to the rolls, the rolls are caused to rotate in the same direction as that in which the sheet base material is moved and allowed to rotate as it has originally been set, and then automatically returned.
