DEVELOPER FOR ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHY

PURPOSE:To enable stable electric charge of a toner by consisting a developer of a carrier coated with a specific silicone resin and a toner contg. a salicylic acid and the metal salt of a salicylic acid compd. CONSTITUTION:This developer consists of the carrier coated with the silicone resin expressed by the formula and the toner contg. the salicylic acid and the metal salt of the salicylic acid compd. In the formula, R denotes a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, hydroxyl group, methoxy group, lower alkyl group of 1-4C or phenyl group. Materials such as iron, copper, nickel, cobalt, zinc, aluminum and brass which have 50-100, more preferably 100-500mu average grain size and are heretofore used are used as the carrier core material to be coated with the silicone resin. The resin is dissolved in a solvent and the soln. is coated on the surface of the core material as a method for coating the silicone resin. The stable electric charge characteristic is thereby obtd. Such developer is usable for a long period of time so as to withstand many sheets of printing in repetitive copying.
