Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To a manufacture fluorescent screen having no step difference in picture-element disposal, by changing light-source length in accordance with the disposal direction of red, green, and blue patterns at the time of three-color element exposure of red, green, and blue. CONSTITUTION:Both end parts of a mercury lamp 5 composing a line light source 3, are covered with light-interruption pipes 8 having V-shaped cut parts 8a formed lengthwise, and light exposure is performed so that light-source length at the time of green-pattern exposure on the central part is made to become different from that at the time of red-and green-pattern exposure on both side parts. Namely, the light exposure is performed so that the light-source length becomes shorter as the line light source 3' is positioned farther on the panel peripheral part, in accordance with incident angles of arc light. Hence, a fluorescent screen, on which stripe-type three color elements 4r, 4g, and 4b of red, green, and blue are uniformly disposed having no step difference in the disposal direction on the outermost edge part of the fluorescent screen, can be manufactured.
