METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR COVERING OF SAND ON WATER BOTTOM

PURPOSE:To smoothen operations by a method in which a weight-type tension absorber is provided for a wire tensed between a sand charging port hung down in water and a pulley on the hull, and the height of the sand charging port is kept constant by absorbing the vertical movement of the hull by the wire. CONSTITUTION:A base 14 with a hopper 3 is set on the central part of the hull 1, a bellows-type flexible cylinder 4 is hung down from the hopper 3, and a sand charging port 6 is attached to the lower end of the cylinder 4. A weight- type wire tension absorber having a weight 10 hung down between two pulleys 9 is provided for a wire 8 tensed from a winch 7 on the hull 1 to the port 6. The vertical movement of the hull 1 is absorbed by the wire 8 between the hull 1 and the port 6 by its length variation, and the cylinder 4 is contracted or expanded by the wire 12 to keep the interval H between the seabed face B and the port 6 almost constant all the time. The operations can thus be smoothly performed.
