Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To inhibit the growth of titanium oxide crystals and to obtain a calcined product having superior heat resistance and mechanical strength by adding a W compd. and/or an Mo compd. to metatitanic acid converted into sol. CONSTITUTION:A W compd. and/or an Mo compd. is used as an additive. This additive is added to metatitanic acid converted into sol and the metatitanic acid is calcined. During the calcination the growth of titanium oxide crystals is inhibited and the crystals remain as ungrown anatase type crystals, so the heat resistance and mechanical strength of a calcined product are improved.
